"RSSessentials"

Imagine a gallery director who keeps you personally updated
of any significant stock changes.

Well that's the beauty of RSS.

RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is a real time saver by providing automatic notification of updates to your favourite Websites. An RSS feed (Atom, XML, or Web feed) is typically a summary of new content that has been added and works in much the same way as a news headline by alerting you to content you may be interested in. What are the benefits?

RSS offers the following advantages:

You can be notified of new content on one or multiple sites all without having to

    visit the sites.

The information presented in an RSS reader is typically much simpler than most

websites. No navigating, faster, and less mental effort.

Choose to have media files automatically downloaded.

It's like getting email each time one of your RSS list updates their content, except no

email address is required. So for sites you may not trust, you are less exposed to spam, viruses, phishing, and identity theft.

If you'd like to stop receiving news, simply remove the feed from your feed reader.

How to use RSS

Feed readers are standard in all modern browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer. Click the RSS icon, which will be something like a small version of the huge orange button above, or for this site, mouse over the subscribe button and choose the RSS icon. Just click where it says 'subscribe to this feed' (or choose your prefered service). If you'd prefer the same service via e-mail, click 'FeedBlitz' in the email tab.
